Nihonbashi worship counter separate from the main shrine
The Tokyo branch's official history traces its origins to the former residence of the Makino family, lords of Kasama. Its connections with Nihonbashi's former fish market and merchant community offer another perspective on its relationship with the main shrine.
Nihonbashi Seven Lucky Gods's colored paper/treasure ship has different instructions from the regular goshuin. Please do not apply the officially published Reiwa 8 (2026) New Year's award method to the next New Year, but check the latest annual guidance. If you want a limited edition item or goshuin book, check first to see if Tokyo branch carries it.

Previous visit records and photos (posted in 2014)
The following account preserves the original visit experience and historical introduction. The photographs and encounters at the counter date from that publication; they do not describe a new visit. Old access instructions have been replaced by the checked information above. Historical accounts and spiritual benefits are presented as traditions and beliefs.
This is a branch of Kasama Inari in Ibaraki Prefecture, one of Japan's three major Inari shrines. It is said that it was originally a shrine in the residence of the former Kasama feudal lord, the Makino clan, and is affectionately known as Monzaburo Inari.
It is also a company of Nihonbashi Seven Lucky Gods, and Jurojin is also enshrined here.

History and traditions

Enshrined Deity Uganomitama no Mikoto
The shrine is traditionally associated with abundant harvests, successful business, industrial prosperity, good fortune and protection from fire.
It is said that at the end of the Edo period, the lord of the Kasama domain at the time invited Kasama Inari Shrine, one of the three major Inari shrines in Japan, to his place and made it his shrine.
Although the main building was destroyed by fire in the Great Kanto Earthquake, it was quickly rebuilt, but it was later destroyed again in the Great Tokyo Air Raid, but it was rebuilt with the help of the main shrine.
Setsusha “Juro Shrine”

Jurojin, one of the Seven Lucky Gods, was enshrined on the left side of the main shrine.
As one of the gods of Nihonbashi Seven Lucky Gods, Jurojin is said to be the god of longevity, the god of guidance, and the god of good fortune.
Notes from the visit

I was able to request goshuin at the shrine office next to the shrine building.
Apparently you can have two types: one from the shrine and one from Jurojin from Nihonbashi Seven Lucky Gods.
I am planning to visit Nihonbashi Seven Lucky Gods again, so this time I ordered something from the shrine.
